How to Start Yoga

Learn the basics of yoga from scratch systematically and safely in a small, friendly and relaxed setting with one of our Yoga Courses for Beginners. Or, take a course to renew your practice after some time away or to strengthen the foundation of your existing practice.


Yoga For Beginners

In Yoga 1(Beginners course), you will be introduced to the 5 Points of Yoga for vibrant health, 12 basic yoga postures (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama), relaxation exercises, introduction to proper diet, positive thinking and meditation.

Register in advance and come for classes with empty stomach and a yoga mat.

Course duration: The course consists of 8 classes of 90 minutes each on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday over 2 weeks and 10 practice sessions which our participants are expected to complete in another two weeks

Open Yoga Classes

Purpose of open yoga classes is to help you maintain your practice schedule. If you are new to yoga, we suggest you to do our beginners course first. You will learn variations in postures and some more advance poses.

Advancing One's Yoga Practice

Advanced classes give more time for working on perfecting the 12 basic asanas, holding them longer in order to reap the benefits. A class may focus on flexibility, strength, or stamina. By the proper practice of warm-up exercises and some more advanced postures, the importance of breathing and relaxation is realized, and the peacefulness of deep concentration is experienced.

Course duration : 1.5 hours
Suggested donation : Rs 500
Prerequisite : Yoga 1 + one month of open class attendance

Saturday: 8:00- 9:30 AM    Sunday: 8.00- 9:30 AM

 

Other Ways to Advance Your Practice

Teachers Training Course (TTC) is a 4 week residential training conducted at our ashrams. It provides an intensive experience of yoga as a way of life and enables you to share the benefits of yoga formally or informally with others
