You can have restful sleep. You can have increased energy, vigour, vitality, longevity and a high standard of health. You can turn out efficient, work within a short space of time. You can have success in every walk of life. “

These were the words of Swami Sivananda about the practice of yoga. We have seen these words coming to life in front of our eyes with many of the students. Students from various backgrounds and from various walks of life have benefited from the practice of yoga.  As the practitioner advances, they will influence whoever comes into contact with them. The friends and family member see these change and get inspired and uplifted. Here is one such experience of a family member of the yoga practitioner,


Sivananda – A journey to the beyond

“The values that Swami Sivananda sought to imbibe in all of humanity, the values of which he himself was the epitome, are truly exemplified by the organization in the present day. Their teachings, yogic practices, and overall organizational culture reflect the ideals that the founders stood for.

Although these might seem to be tall claims, I can vouch for the aforementioned statement through the noticeable transformation in my mother after she associated herself with the organization. In January 2018 she attended the Teachers’ Training Course in the Kerala centre and had an experience like never before. A month of intense hatha yoga practice, karma yoga, meditation, lectures, field trips and much more, enhanced her perception of life manifold. An anxiety and OCD patient for the past 15 years, she undertook the intensive course in order to seek higher possibilities in life, both mentally and physically. Once through with the course, she came back to Delhi and continued to practice yoga at the Dwarka branch. She has seen a sea change in the way she now tackles everyday issues effortlessly and our whole family has noticed the significant improvement in her anxiety issues. Yoga, she says, helps her to keep her anxiety at bay and makes her strong in the body and the mind. If I were to point out all the benefits she received, it would be an endless list. But I can sum it up by saying that yoga completely transformed her life; it made her healthier, stronger and more conscious. Also, attempting a headstand at the age of 50 is quite a remarkable feat in itself.
