Journey of a Lifetime

Join us for a journey of a lifetime, a pilgrimage through India, on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee Celebration of Swami Vishnudevanandaji’s Mahasamadhi.

The pilgrimage is to honour the life and teachings of Swamiji, yoga pioneer and international peace activist. Swami Vishnudevananda’s unrivalled and courageous mission of bringing yoga to the West and of its revival in India is now recognized as a monumental achievement on a world-wide scale.

The seeds he planted in the late twentieth century through his tireless work have grown into mighty forces and through his sacrifice the practice of yoga is now accepted internationally as part of mainstream culture. We begin the journey at his birth place, Nemmara, South India and end at Netala, Himalayas where Swami Vishnudevananda’s body was consigned to his beloved river Ganges.

Accompanied by senior swamis and disciples of Swami Vishnudevananda, we will criss-cross the great sub-continent, visiting temples and holy places, giving talks, seminars, conferences, yoga demonstrations and satsangs in cities, towns and villages along the way. We will share the knowledge of Yoga and Vedanta in institutes of higher education, colleges, schools, local communities and our Sivananda Centres and Ashrams, bringing yoga to a wider public throughout India.

Be part of this powerful spiritual journey by joining the yatra or organising an event for us when we come to your area.
