Yoga Ayurveda Cultural Programme
Join us for a joyful and unique Christmas celebration in the tropical splendour of south India.
Leave your cares and worries behind and celebrate the Christmas and New Year season in the tropical splendour of south India at the Dhanwantari Ashram, Neyyar Dam, Kerala. Based on Swami Vishnudevananda’s vision of one world, one family, the programme brings together West and East and celebrates the oneness of humanity. You will experience an exciting array of Indian culture together with our Yoga Vacation schedule.
Be inspired by a rich tapestry of stunning cultural performances—uplifting and inspirational classical Indian music and dance from both north and south India as well as breath-taking demonstrations of kalaripyattu (precursor to all martial art forms). Discover new ways of thinking with talks on ayurveda. Often called a sister science of yoga (both emerge from the Vedic tradition), Ayurveda is a holistic medical system that aims to uproot the underlying causes of disease. Learn how to tailor ayurveda to individual needs and take home practical, effective tools for a well-balanced lifestyle. Open your mind and expand your horizons with talks on vedic astrology, mathematics, vaastu (the ancient Indian science of space and form) and more.
Our joyful Christmas festivities include a Christmas tree, Christmas carols and a visit from Santa Claus!! Feasts of delicious local cuisine will pepper your stay. Excursions (additional charge) to local places of interest, twice daily yoga classes and the blessings of satsang morning and evening when we get together for meditation and where you can open your heart to the divine sounds of kirtan, chanting, and prayer, are an additional inspiration.
People from all over the world come to celebrate this festive time with us, forgetting all ties and uniting in heart-warming harmony. You will meet new friends and be in the company of like-minded-souls. You will experience a new vitality and enthusiasm for life. A truly joyous ten days.
