“Yoga is restraint of the modifications of the mind.”
~Swami Sivananda, Raja Yoga
Raja Yoga (Discipline of Mind)
Raja Yoga trains the mind directly. At the centre, this appears in structured practices: meditation, pranayama, and disciplined asana classes.
The method is consistent. You sit at the same time each day, observe the breath, and bring attention back when it wanders. The process is simple but not easy. The mind resists repetition, yet repetition is what builds control.
Over time, thoughts lose their urgency. Instead of reacting immediately, there is a pause. That pause changes decisions, conversations, and outcomes.
The teaching is clarity through discipline. A trained mind supports every other aspect of life. Without it, even good intentions become inconsistent.
