About the Centre

The Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre Trivandrum was founded in 1986 and is now located 5 minutes away from the famed Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Keralam’s capital Thiruvananthapuram.

We continue a tradition of authentic yoga rooted in the teachings of Swami Sivananda. Every class is guided by the Five Points of Yoga, a practical system for healthy and balanced living.

Whether you are looking to improve your health, reduce stress or deepen your yoga practice, we invite you to begin your journey with us.

Our students also go on to deepen their practice and do the Teachers’ Training Course, which then leads them to become part of the Centre in a very special way: They become teachers and continue the lineage.

When you practice with us you become a part of the Sivananda Family, where we support you through your physical, mental and spiritual journey. You become an ambassador of peace.

Our Purpose

Our gurus, Swami Sivananda and Swami Vishnudevananda’s teachings were to make authentic yoga accessible in a practical and structured way for all, while preserving the integrity of its traditional teachings.

Based on the Five Points of Yoga of Swami Vishnudevananda, our classes and courses are a means to achieve physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing, and self-realisation.

We offer a clear pathway that supports:

  • Physical health and vitality
  • Mental clarity and emotional balance
  • Long-term consistency in personal practice

Yoga here is taught as a complete system, not only as physical exercise.
