Nestled in the serene village of Netala, 8 km north of Uttarkashi, Sivananda Kutir offers a timeless escape where yoga, nature and spiritual tradition meet. Founded in 1991, and part of the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres founded by Sri Swami Vishnudevananda (disciple of Sri Swami Sivananda of Rishikesh), this Ashram combines classical yoga, meditation, Vedanta and sacred culture in a Himalayan setting.
Here, high-altitude vistas, the sacred flow of the Ganga, snow-clad peaks and crisp mountain air create more than just beauty—they form the perfect backdrop for inner transformation. The land—Devbhumi, “Land of the Gods”—is steeped in history, a place where sages and seekers alike have found solitude, clarity and inspiration through the ages.
At Sivananda Kutir, we bring alive the Five Points of Yoga as taught by Swami Vishnudevananda—yet keep them practical so both new students and seasoned practitioners benefit. Daily yoga, meditation, spiritual teachings and immersive teacher-training courses guide students toward harmony of body, mind and spirit.
Whether you seek peace, deeper insight, or a renewed connection with nature and tradition, Sivananda Kutir is more than a retreat—it’s a living school, a sacred home where you can slow down, open your heart, and awaken to a more balanced life.
