Ayurveda Massage Therapy Course

This certified intensive residential course is designed to teach participants the principles and applications of traditional Ayurvedic massage styles and therapies that have been practiced for thousands of years. It provides participants with the theoretical knowledge and practical experience they need to practice Ayurveda massage and therapies, helping people advance their physical, mental, and emotional health while treating various health conditions.

This practical-oriented course is divided into 2 parts: theory and practical training.
Theory topics will be covered during the first week and will cover:
- Introduction to Ayurveda
- The Eight Branches of Ayurveda (Ayurveda Ashtanga)
- Theory of the Five Great Elements (Pancha Mahabhuta)
- Theory of the Three Humors (Tridosha)
- The Concept of Metabolic Fire (Agni)
- Ayurveda Pharmacology (Dravya Guna)
- Introduction to Ayurveda Healing & Therapy
- The Concepts of Oelation (Snehana) and Heating (Swedana) in Ayurvedic Therapy
- Overview of Course Therapies: including description and benefits of each, variants and methods of application, and conta/indications of application
Practical Training
Daily 2 or 3 sessions (3-5 hours) of practical training where participants get to learn massage and therapy applications from doctors and senior therapists before practicing learned techniques on each other as well as others.

Weeks 2 & 3: Morning theory lecture (1100 – 1230) is replaced with a third practical training session.
The Ashram offers five simple and functional types of accommodation. There are no single rooms.
- Vaikuntam Rooms: Shared AC twin rooms with private bathroom (hot water), kettle and fridge
- Kailash Rooms: Shared non-AC twin rooms with private bathroom (hot water)
- Vishnu Rooms: Shared non-AC twin rooms with common bathrooms (cold water only)
- Dormitory: separate for men and women. Dormitories contain up to 32 beds with two-bedded cubicles. Limited solar heated water is available.
- Tent space: you are required to bring your own tent and mattress. Shared tent area bathrooms are with cold water only.
For all accommodation two bed sheets, pillow, pillow case, and mosquito net are provided.
- Two sets of uniform and a text book are provided as a part of the course material and are included in the course fee.
- Things to bring – comfortable clothes, sandals, toiletries, personal items, meditation shawl for cool evenings, yoga asana mat, meditation cushion, notebooks, pens, towels, water bottle and torch. You can also purchase these items at the ashram boutique.
- Guests should be familiar with the Ashram Rules & Guidelines before their arrival.
- Simple Indian vegetarian meals are provided at 10am and 6pm.
- Refund policy:In view of possible difficulties with visas and flights, we recommend that you register only after visas and flights are certain.
- For cancelling the registration before the start of the course, the original payment will be refunded less:
- Rs 5,000 for Indians (dorm registration); 5% for Indians (room registrations) ie. INR payments.
- USD 150 up until 3 months from the booking date for USD payments (all accommodations).
- An additional USD 50 will be charged (USD refunds) where cancellation is after 3 months from the booking date (all accommodations).
- Once the course starts, if the student decides to leave within five days, the original payment will be refunded less:
- Rs 4,500 for Indians (dorm registrations); 10% for Indians (room registrations); ie. INR payments.
- USD 450 for USD payments (all accommodations)
- After five days of the course, no refund will be issued.
- Students leaving the course before completion are required to return all teaching materials and uniforms.Full refund will only be granted where SYVC has had to cancel the programme.PLEASE ENSURE THAT TRAVEL AND ANY NECESSARY VISA ARE POSSIBLE BEFORE REGISTERING.Revised 1-12-2021
- For cancelling the registration before the start of the course, the original payment will be refunded less:
For Domestic Payments from Resident Indians:
- For cancelling the registration before the start of the programme, the original payment will be refunded less 6.5%.
- Once the course starts, if the student decides to leave within three days, the original payment will be refunded less 18%.
For Overseas Payments:
- As refunds will be via international bank transfer, which may take six months to process, the cancellation fee has to be higher.
- The advance payment of the partial programme fee, service fee and taxes paid to GetOnYoga Pvt. Ltd. is fully non-refundable.
- Once the course starts, if the student decides to leave within three days, the programme fee paid will be refunded less 25%.
- After three days of the programme: in case of discontinuation of the course after the Wednesday of the first week, no refund will be issued.
- Students leaving the course before completion, are required to return manual and uniforms.
Note:
- Full refund of the course fee paid will only be granted where SYVC has had to cancel the programme.
- It is advised to ensure receipt of appropriate visa is possible before registering or booking flights.
