About the Centre

The Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Nataraja Centre is a classical yoga centre in South Delhi offering structured hatha yoga classes, courses, and workshops rooted in the Sivananda Yoga tradition. Established in 1992, the centre has been supporting students at every stage of their practice, from first-time beginners to experienced practitioners, within a disciplined and supportive learning environment. Our students also go on to deepen their practice and do the Teachers’ Training Course, which then leads them to become part of the Centre in a very special way: They become teachers and continue the lineage

This is not just a yoga studio, when you practice with us you become a part of the Sivananda Family, where we support you through your physical, mental and spiritual journey. You become an ambassador of peace

Our Mission

Our gurus, Swami Sivananda and Swami Vishnudevananda’s teachings were to make authentic yoga accessible in a practical and structured way for all, while preserving the integrity of its traditional teachings.

Based on the Five Points of Yoga of Swami Vishnudevananda, our classes and courses are a means to achieve physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing, and self-realisation.

We offer a clear pathway that supports:

  • Physical health and vitality
  • Mental clarity and emotional balance
  • Long-term consistency in personal practice

Yoga here is taught as a complete system, not only as physical exercise

Our Lineage

Classical. Practical. Transformative.

The centre follows the teachings of Swami Sivananda and Swami Vishnudevananda, who presented classical yoga as a complete path for modern life. Their teachings combine asana, pranayama, relaxation, proper diet, positive thinking, meditation, selfless service, and devotion. This lineage gives equal importance to personal discipline and inner clarity, making yoga a daily practice rather than a physical exercise alone.

This lineage emphasises regular practice, simplicity in teaching, and yoga as a holistic system for body, mind, and spirit. Teachers at the centre are trained within this tradition and teach according to its established methodology.
