All Sivananda Ashrams in India are accessible by air, rail, and road. Each ashram is located in a quiet natural setting and requires a final road journey from the nearest city or transport hub. Detailed directions are provided on the individual ashram websites and also after booking.
By Air
The nearest airport varies by ashram. From the airport, taxis and local transport are available to reach the ashram. Travel time by road may range from one to several hours, depending on location.
By Train
Major railway stations are located in nearby cities or towns. From the station, guests can continue by taxi, bus, or auto-rickshaw. Train travel is often a comfortable and economical option for long distances within India.
Train e-tickets can be booked up to three months in advance via the internet. Train information can be obtained via www.indianrail.gov.in Limited seats in higher classes are available for credit card bookings via www.irctc.co.in
By Road
All ashrams are reachable by road. Public buses operate from nearby towns, and taxis can be arranged from airports or railway stations. Road conditions vary by region, and travel may include hilly or rural stretches.
The final part of the journey to the ashram is often through rural or forested areas. Mobile connectivity may be limited. Guests are advised to download maps in advance and carry the ashram contact details while travelling.
