Corona Updates

Update 30.03.20
Adhering to the directives of Government of India & Government of Kerala, the ashram will stay closed until April 14. We will keep you notified of any further developments as they happen.

Update 14.03.20
Due to the increasing frequency of NCV in our area we have been advised to not accept any visitors or admit any new guests to the ashram until further notice (31 March). This is to ensure the safety of the current ashram residents. We truly regret this as we have tried to keep the ashram open for the benefit of all in these trying times . Current ashram residents should continue to strictly stay within the ashram compound.

Update 11.03.20
In view of the Chief Minister Office, Kerala state press release on 10 March to avoid mass participation programs, we are transferring the 15 March TTC to Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Meenakshi Ashram, Madurai to be held from 15 March – 11 April, 2020. We regret the inconvenience caused. Students coming to Trivandrum should report to Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Dhanwantari Ashram, Neyyar Dam from where they will be transported to Madurai. Students intending to travel directly to Madurai can contact sivananda.org.in/madurai/ashram-information for travel information.

Update 9.03.20
As of date, we are not affected by the new Corona Virus (NCV) in the Ashram. We are following official government guidelines and are in touch with doctors from the Ministry of Health to monitor the situation. At the same time, we are promoting basic hand and face hygiene measures in the ashram including making hand soap and sanitizers available around the ashram and face masks for anyone with upper respiratory infection (URTI) symptoms.
Our resident Ayurveda doctors are treating any guests with URTI symptoms and keeping the local health authorities informed. For the moment we are continuing our programs and courses as usual.
As an additional cautionary measure, at this time resident guests and staff are required to strictly stay within the ashram boundaries during their stay.
